Damned if He Does and Damned if He Doesn’t

Jonathan Martin of Politico hits the nail on the head.

John McCain is damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t. He could never mention Jeremiah Wright and ensure his campaign aides don’t either, and he’d still be accused of running a racist campaign.

Have his tactics against Obama in recent days gotten more personal and hard-edged? Yes. Are his top surrogates, including his running mate, suggesting that the Democrat is a terrorist sympathizer who is not a patriot? Yes.

But is McCain doing anything overtly racist? No.

As Harold Ford Jr. told me in Nashville: “If Barack were not African-American, they’d be doing this.”

Barack Obama, a man that has run on his “judgment” has shown a long history of having, frankly, horrible judgment in who he decides to associate himself with. It’s the obligation of the McCain Campaign to alert the American public, especially since the media refuses to do so.

Barack Obama, his campaign, his followers, and his enablers in the media have proven that they will accuse John McCain of racism regardless of what he does. So John McCain has every right to continue to show America the real Barack Obama.

I agree 100%. Sen. Obama has associated himself with questiobable people his entire career. When you add that to what he has to say about some of the voters ‘bitter, clinging to religion and guns’ and his grandmother as a ‘typical white person’ it says a great deal about the character of Sen. Obama.

My parents used to always remind me that ‘Birds of a feather, flock together’.

You’re right on Kellie J.! I’ve said all along on Yahoo Answers that the only difference between Obama and Osama is two letters: B.S.! The only other thing is that Obama’s only desire in history is to be the first black in the big purty White House for his race and Michelle wants to be the first Black woman to try and channel Jackie Kennedy Onassis! NOT!

They may, I say MAY get there! But he has absolutely NO CLUE of what to do or how to do it once he gets in that big OVAL OFFICE no more n’ a squirrel chewing the wood on our front porch and wondering where his next meal’s coming from!

He is a very dangerous individual and the people he’s “in bed with” are the most dangerous this country will ever encounter, mark my words!

The key phrase here is ‘overtly racist.’ Its not overtly racist, of course. They can’t get away with that. But does it key into ignorance, racism, and xenophobia? Absolutely

I cant believe this country has swung full circle. With the racist thinking of obama, this could be the set up for another racially divided country. I thought we had come so far, I know there are radical racists white and black out there I just never thought one would be so close to being elected the president of our country.

I know when I voted, I didn’t fully understand, but after I voted, I realized that I had made a decision that didn’t support a strong America. When I voted, I realized I voted for someone who would “do it for me” where I don’t have to be responsible for myself. After I made that decision, I now know that I didn’t make a decision based on creating a strong America.

I want a candidate in office that will support me being an entrepreneur, which is what this country was founded on. This country is not about having the government being responsible for you, its about being an entrepreneur and having that self reliant spirit. And that was what this country was founded on. I don’t agree with everything McCain does, and how he campaigned, but he does know a little bit more about being an American and what it means to be an entrepreneur. And that is what this country needs right now, just a little bit more of that. So if you haven’t voted yet, vote for the candidate who will support us in being responsible for ourselves. This country does depend on it.
